My 393 doesn't vibrate at all, has a less than 4 sec 0-60 and I've only hit
155 on a track day and no I didn't look down to see the RPM's because the
braking zone for the180 degree turn one is also at the end of the high speed
part of the track. But it was still pulling and sounded great, not near the
end of the range. I also have lightweight parts on the valvetrain, balanced,
blueprinted, etc.
But just as Dan said in his post, high RPM's come from short stroke engines,
IRL engines are only about 180 cu inches and they are rev limited to 10,300
RPM and make about 650 HP!
2005 Formula One engines rev to 18,000 RPM's, were V10's and made about
650-950 HP out of 3.0 liters
For 2006, the engines must be 90° V8 of 2.4 liters maximum capacity with a
98mm maximum circular bore, which imply a 39,7 mm minimum stroke and are
supposed to turn 22,000 RPM's this year.
....and they spent hundreds of millions per year on figuring it all out.
