Art,
Right on with the cam. I am also running seriously poked 302B heads, 11.4:1 compression with a 850cfm and 180's..

Dawg,
I went with the cam that was one notch less aggressive than yours. I got the Comp Cams Magnum hydraulic roller, part # 32-541-8. The technical info on these cams for those (not me) that understand this stuff is:
My cam, 290/290 advertised duration, 230/230 duration at .050. Valve lift .578/.578. Lobe separation 110.
Dawg's cam, 304/304 advertised duration, 244/244 duration at .050. Valve lift .612/.612. Lobe separation 110.
If I am correct Dennis, your cam's part number is 32-651-8? The carb I'm using is a Holley 750 double pumper with mechanical secondaries, Jet Performance in Huntington Beach did the prep work on the carb for me.

Artie,
Gray Gregory and I compared our similar stroker motors (mine Mike Cook and his Dennis Quella) a few years back and as I recall I picked up another 25 HP with my Holly Strip Dominator intake and no other changes. Even with your mild build I'd expect you to get 350-375.....what cam and carb did you select?

I finally got to do a dyno pull with the new engine. There is a problem with the primary side of the carb so I will take it back to Jet Performance and see if that problem can be solved. The carb problem apparently had no effect on the top HP or torque numbers. Max torque was 325 at about 4000 RPM. Max horsepower was 326 at about 5650 RPM at which point HP dropped off rapidly. The cam is supposed to be good from 2500-6000 RPM. The Edelbrock Performer intake is supposed to be good to 5500 RPM, that looks pretty close! It appears to me that the intake is holding me back, because I believe this 377 stroker has some more horses in it. So it looks like I need a new intake manifold. I am not willing to give up my original screen that covers the engine, I realize this limits my intake choices. During this restoration I raised the front of the screen by half an inch for the additional clearance, I am also willing to raise the back of the screen some. I have heard Mike Drew talk about a
Blue Thunder intake that may fit under my screen and give me some more horses. Anybody out there running the low rise Blue Thunder intake? So what do you guys think, am I on the right track here? I do plan to call Russ Fulp the engine builder and get his advice.
