Pedro,

Wot?! Are you watching the Acadamy Awards with her tonight?! ;-]

The tires and mods for Silver State? Will be running new 17/18" Wilkinson forged Campy's with new BFG G-Force T/A KDW-2's that are 245/40YR-17's in front and 285/40YR-18's in rear. The final 4-corner ride height adjustments and alignment will follow in a couple weeks when everything else is complete.

Probably the biggest mod to the Pantera is to the cooling system. Ron Davis NASCAR single pass 'big-sombeitch" radiator. We ran it for the first time today for 20 minutes. Got the water up to 180F and oil temp to 210F which was perfect....it takes a loooong time to warm up! On start-up, no leaks, no belching water..it ran perfectly. Next up is a serious road test.

On the cooling system Dick Drenske eliminated the stock bottles and water lines. He also hand fabricated larger water lines. About 35% of the stock hoses and hose clamps were eliminated simply because he fabricated and welded his own SS lines from the custom thermostat housing Dick designed through to the Fluidyne heat exchanger (oil cooler) and radiator. His system follows the mods that Dave Bell and JT previously wrote about. He's added a single 15" 2900cfm sucker fan to the back side in case its needed in traffic because first and foremost this is a street driven Pantera.

The removeable modified Byers Precision Pro-Formance provided air dam now drops down an additional 3" inches and has a 2" tapering spliter on the bottom. Ducts are glassed in. Bottom will have an additional small 1-2" piece of 'sacrificial' rubber trim on the bottom. Sides of the Pantera will also have 4" piece of heavy belt that will be zeus fitted for easy R&R.

The carbon fibre hood with flush mounted hardware is an all new design again by Dick Drenske.... it should be ready by the end of next week. It will have a gunctional radiused Gurney flap to vacate air out of the back of the radiator.

Drenske has already modified the suspension...triple adjustable Alden billet gas shocks, aftermarket springs, etc. Caster is now 5.5 degrees on front end. No rear wing....Other minor changes is a battery kill switch mounted in front wiper gill, new Auto Meter Ultra-Lite (oil temp, oil pressure and water temp) gauges on stacked pods on roll cage by window pillar...

Also got the re-coated ceremic 180 headers and new Taylor 10.4mm plug wires back on the Pantera this weekend...everything is allot closer. It's all most ready to drive to the beach and I am hoping I may be ready for Texas in April for a little shake down cruise before Silver State in May.

  MD
P.S. Picking up a re-charged Deist fire bottle next week! ;-]

I flew in to meet Jane who flew in from Honolulu.

If you are still planning to run that fast at Silver State what tires are
you planning to run?
What aero mods did you add to the Pantera?
Fire suppression? ;~)
