[DeTomaso] Ball Joints

Charles - Thanks for the info.  I think the technical guys out there would love to hear more about how you did this.  Until Roland put it out there that he was tooling up new ball joints, the upper front units were going for about $400 each at the Pantera vendors, with a dwindling supply.

  I am new to this forum so if I am sending this incorrectly I apologize.  It is possible to use Ford Torris ball joints that are manufactured by TRW but you would have to boar out the original housings and put in an insert into the carrier to accommodate a 1 to 8 tapper.  The pantera ball joints are 1 to 10 taper and not to many ball joints out there are this size.  These aftermarket ball joints would cost you about $30 each.  I have made new ball joints for my car out of these components but made new housings to off set the pivot for increased caster.
