[DeTomaso] [NPC] Catalytic Converters

Do the cheap stuff first, especially if it needs it anyway (spark plugs,
fuel filter, O2 sensors).

It could be something stupid like a bad engine ground.

If you don't figure it out, I'd take it to a good shop.  I know a guy in the
Houston area that is very good.

I have a hard time believing the cats would sometimes plug flow so bad it
barely runs only to correct itself later on.  4-9mpg to 20mpg is a big jump.

I don't have a hard time believing a muffler shop told you it was the cats.

I checked for unplugged sensors and there weren't any.  The O2 is only $22,
in stock and it is easy to get at, so I thought I would give it a shot.
