[DeTomaso] Intercooler Radiator Placement Question

Chris,

Ok, where the f did you get this super-charger intercooler combo!?! :) What kind of injection are you using?

I'm in that not-so-comfortable place between not having a big enough pile of money laying around to let someone else do it for me, and not knowing enough to do it myself.

Do you have any pics of your system?

I just hope I live long enough for Fred T to get tired of his wicked supercharged work-of-art so he'll sell it to me! :)

JB

Subject: [DeTomaso] Intercooler Radiator Placement Question

Guys:

Once again here I am with another peculiar question.... (and before this
question "starts", thank you all for your thoughts and information on my EFI
"where should the return line be" question).

I've got a supercharger with an intercooler in my Pantera. The intecooler is
a air-water type. The question here is where's a good place to hang the
radiator in the rear of the car?

The radiator is 15" by 14", and 1.3" thick. I'll run 5/8" ID hose to it,
wherever "it" may be. The system has a circulation pump so it doesn't rely
on gravity or heat syphoning. I've got a small header tank for this as
well.... or I may use a Degas bottle instead (haven't decided on that one
yet). The radiator will need a small fan on it too, for active cooling.

The capacity of this system is 1.5 gallons, the system cycles on at 140°F
(temp sensor at the intercooler) and/or when the boost is "on". These
condtions may be "adjusted" when real life sticks it's ugly nose into my
bright and shiny calculations... later this summer... maybe... The "on" temp
is adjustable, and the "on" boost point is also adjustable.

Originally I thought I'd simply hang this under the AC condenser at the rear
of the car, and use the AC fan for double duty.... And I may still do
that.... but I'd rather have the collective group's intelligence applied to
this instead of my minimalist intelligence.... I've heard mention of things
like this being installed behind the rear tires, "inside" the fenders... but
I'm not exactly sure just what that entails... or if it was some kind of
peculiar substance pipe dream astral communication... or when I was stuck
under the dash.... when there wasn't any circulation to my brain....

So anyway, got any good thoughts on this?

Chris
