Wait a minute.. there are some advantages to immigration (and I do mean  
legal)  ... I can read my Adelphia Ad flyer that comes to my home only in  
Spanish... even when I call the 800. number it's only Spanish... but I am so  proud 
of myself.. at first frustrated then I suddenly realized I understood  
everything they said ....push numero uno por billetos, numero dos por nuevo  servicio, 
and number tres para problemas y si yo quiero ellos mataron  por fueremos 
estupido. (remember, I never proclaimed tob e  fluent).   I can order fajitas at 
Sizzler, Puerto Vallarta, Los Arcos,  or Acapulco and tell you which are best. 
 I can make a better guacamole  than Juan Valdez and margaritas from scratch 
('cept I learned that in  Ixtapa.  I can swear in Spanish and answer back to 
all the rotten  things the kids in school say or the storeworkers who  think 
gringos don't understand.   I can marvel at the  grandmothers who come to Open 
house who are in their early 30's.... and  it's a Damn good thing my gardener 
showed up yesterday or I'd have fired his  butt.  
But... forget the Mexican issue for a moment ... I'm now becoming  proficient 
in Armenian.  : )
