jeez, i take a week's sabbatical from the list, & a
whole bunch of politics breaks out, my name is dragged
thru the mud, & i am not even posting!  :>)  

well, i am not that easy to pigeonhole.  i think there
should be absolutely *NO* amnesty for "undocumented"
(read: illegal) workers.  ya think there's a rush of
our borders *now*?  yust imagine the rush when folks
outside the usa see that it *works*!  i think all
employers of illegals should be penalized big time.

i also think this whole "amnesty" thing, &
unenforcement of our present immigration laws has
*nothing* to do with liberal sympathetic plight of the
less fortunate, the non-caucasian, or whatever else
you wanna call illegals.  instead it has *everything*
to do with business interests wanting to keep the wage
rate down, & hiring expenses as low as possible.

why do ya think dubyah is so in favor of amnesty?  cuz
he's so sensitive to the plight of the less
fortunate?!?  lol!

when i was a kid, the minimum wage was $2/hour.  if it
were immediately raised today to $10.50/hour, (from
its present $5.15 rate), it would have as much value
as the $2 i was able to earn.  anything less than that
is criminal, imo.  as is the hiring of illegals. 
business interests care *nothing* about the usa.  or
about *any* country.  they yust wanna maximize profit.
 outsource labor to where it's the cheapest & least
restrictive re: health/safety standards, etc.  let
cheap labor come in to the usa.  these folks want *no*
political boundaries of *any* type.

i also believe that *only* english should be allowed
in all federal offices/documents/etc.  not only should
bi-lingualism be discouraged in this country, it
should be illegal.  english should be the language
taught in schools.  i am all for being able to learn
french/spanish/russian/etc in schools, but science,
history, math, etc should be taught *only* in english!

re: terrorism, our present administration doesn't care
about it, other than to use it as a weapon of fear, so
it can abolish all our rights & freedoms w/o anyone
protesting too strongly.  this administration *knew*
9/11 was coming, they purposely turned the other cheek
so they could use it as their "pearl harbour of the
21st century" excuse to plunder iraq's oil wealth. 
this was specifically stated re: how we need an excuse
to attack iraq, in the neocon's own pnac website in
the mid-90's; & dubyah was quoted saying the "exact"
quote on the evening of 11 sept 2001.  mere
coincidence?

if the usa wants to stop terrorism from radical muslim
fundamentalists, then it should *immediately* cut off
*all* financial aid to israel until israel agrees to
withdraw from *all* terriroties occupied in the '67
war, & turn it over to the palestinian people. 
unfortunately, *no* one in politics, democrat,
republican, independant, *anyone*, has the cojones to
deal with *that* problem.  of course, israel, the
*real* terrorist mid-east nation - the one that really
*has* wmd's, the one nation that *will* use them -
will attempt to blackmail us if we try to get tough
with them.  they did it during the yom kippor war in
the 70's, when we at first refused to re-supply them
w/military parts in the middle of the war.  then the
usa suddenly did an about-face & decided to ship them
the parts.  hmmm...  i wonder why???  hmmm....
