Bob,
Sounds like you are still on a HIGH from the track event! ;-]
Nice description of all the guys, espially Erik who is also a Silver State ORR veteran, a licensed racer and at one time I believe he was a regional shifter cart champion.
Can't wait to see you and Jason and your 'rides' up in Ely.

Erik Belter
He is problably the most talented racer in the group and kicks our
butts with his Miata every year coming in second only to Esakoff.
He wrenched all the way up to the race chasing a brake problem,
changing pads, removing the air dam thinking it was air flow and
finally bypassing the power brakes that were effected by the increase
in boost bleeding through a check valve. The good new is he
is SELLLING THE MIATA!!! so he can concentrate on the getting
the PANTERA back on the track--- watch out yellow car!!!
Dave from Durango
I finally met Dave, a very nice guy. He quietly runs the hell out of his
car.
I could see he was rolling the rubber on his tires and according to Jason
he does a fine job on the track.
Jason Eaton
Jason had a good time at the track with no blown water lines or fuel
problems as in the past. He has a new flaming decal scheme on the
car that makes it look fast just sitting still. Jason is ready for the
Silver State
Chis Qualls
Chris is my sparring partner. We are very close in speed on the track
and that makes for a fun time. Chris has been winning and practicing
with a fairly stock mustang in the SCCA world and his driving has
picked up this year. He does a hell of a lot with a fairly stock burgandy
GTS pantera. I need all my horsepower, big brakes and fancy shocks
just to keep up with him. And no Chris I wasn't sandbagging
Gray Gregory
He took my usual bad luck on grid on race day. I heard there was
a 10 cent fuse that decided to go so he was pushed off before the
race. Hopefully it will be better next year.
Larrry Stock
One of the gifted Open Road Racers runs his car hard all the time.
I think the tall gearing on his Red Racer hold him back for our track
events. As allways Larry is helping others with problems, towing cars,
selling gas and parts and still manages to run his car at a respectable
speed for all to see.
Mark Tumbarello
This was Marks first track event. I offered to ride along
but I cannot even fit in a Pantera with stock seating.
In passing by from time to time he said he was doing good
and getting a feel for the track. Later on the second day
he was changing the failed fuel pump with one that he
just happened to bring along. Mark is another Pantera owner
that quietly takes care of things and you hardly know anything
went wrong.
Great time and great week
In a final note I did run the Team Pantera sticker
on my fender and hope to be a small part of the Team
as we embark on my first Silver State
