[DeTomaso] Repairing of a capillary T ° gauge

Hy Guys,
His some body knows haw to repair a capillary T° gauge ? The capillary is
broken at the junction with the probe, I remove the end on it (just tinned)
and I tinning welded, the capillary, nothing works. May-be there is a
special gas inside? I tried to blow in the capillary but the needle of the
gauge didn¹t move.
