As I mentioned earlier many of the long time ORR veterans with the Vettes, Vipers etc were all very impressed with you, the Pantera AND your race results...outstanding job.

  Art,
I can tell you getting ready for an event is always a great undertaking.
After running the track in Vegas I came home changed the oil in the engine
and trans (yes there is a lot of metal in the trans after an event so CHANGE
IT!!)
I found out both brackets were broken on the 180's so I had to refab new ones.
The rear deck lid lower bracket broke so I borrowed Gary Kono's and had Larry
Stock bring me one. The seat needed to go lower so we made a new bracket
and got rid of the tracks. I got sick and layed low for a few days. I
installed
the new mirror (with a new bracket due to the new cage) final fitted the seat,
redid the seat belt washers and bolts, plus relocated one and was off to Ely.
I never got to adjust the valves or change the plugs like I wanted to.

In Ely I needed to buy metal caps for the valve stems, pick up and install
plumbing insulation on the cage (my roll bar padding was at home.)
The drivers side window went out (I think a blown fuse) but I decided not
to mess with it in fear of something else going wrong in Lucas's nightmare
of darkness syndrome. Then the night before the race we topped off with
race gas and as I finished one of the plastic jugs left over from Vegas
noticed
a bunch of yellow/white grud in the bottom of the jug. Now how much went
into the tank and will it cause a problem made me wonder all night long.

I was ready to throw in the towel many times but I promised the Dawg
I was "Good to Go" way back when.

A lot of work that burned me out but as they say the experience is "Priceless"
