[DeTomaso] Oil Press switch

I'd hypothesize that the wear is worse on the cylinder walls cranking the 
engine with the starter for an extended period verses allowing the ignition 
to fire quicker.  My reasoning is that you are more likely to get more 
splash lubrication on the walls with higher RPMs.
