Hi Will,

You first need to see what the TV has for Inputs (RCA compost, S, VGA etc.) 
Then see what the laptop has for outputs. www.Blackbox.com has lots of 
"black boxes" to get them talking to each other. I have not used USB myself. 
If you need it for a one time thing I can let you use my Blackbox, black 
box.  It is not great on a standard TV but it worked well for some training 
I had to do.

Now if your going to do this full time there is some free software out there 
to run on the lap top to change its out put. Let me know if you need it.
