Hey Guys,
FYI, my 72L is orange also, but it is in my garage in Southern Cal in Seal
Beach. Last time it was on a flat bed was four months ago when delivered to
my home.

The ZF parts list calls for a 17x2 mm ring. That's ID x thickness IIRC.

If it's stock parts you are after Dan, buy the same parts for the same year
of Mustang 351 4V as your Pantera. They used the same components in this
area.

The starter solenoid and voltage regulator are generic Ford parts common
to most any car of the day. The stock coil is also generic unless you or
a previous owner has upgraded to a high performance unit (MSD, Mallory
etc.). your local parts store should have everything you need.

Oh, and don't fit a weak Mustang alternator--get a proper, powerful
100-amp or better alternator, which you can get from the Pantera
vendors, or from speciality alternator suppliers.

You're a sharp one Mikey.... :)
The cardboard sleeve is attached. I did not want to destroy it by
removing it. It does not slip on and off. It looks like a red metal
bottle wrapped in cardboard! :)

I don't know if the Bailey exit is down in the south bay, or up near
Tom's house, but Gary Glenn owns an orange L-model and lives relatively
close to Tom. But somehow I think the Bailey exit is down by San
Martin. The only other orange L-model I can think of, offhand, is Jon

an orange PCNC car in the south bay?

Craig Frost, who plays keyboard in the Sliver Bullet Band with Bob Seger has
been a Pantera owner since 72---still has his car. Just a bit of Pantera

They are playing in Chicago on the 30th. I may have some extra tickets for
the show--tickets include after show party passes. Anyone in the Chicago
area interested in going? Drop me a note off line. Thanks

Hi guys,
Check this out. Who woulda thunk it? I still think it needs to be
verified, i.e. somebody has to have a decent photo of a decent,
unwrapped inflator?

MIKE, THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS, YOU HAVE HELPED TREMENDOUSLY AND IT IS
REALLY APPRECIATED. FOR YOUR INFORMATION TO RELAY TO OTHER PANTERA
OWNERS-- THE INFLATOR FOR A 90´S NISSAN 300ZX IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS
THAT
OF A PANTERA AND OF A MUSTANG BOSS, BUT WITH A NISSAN DECAL WRAPPED
AROUND IT, IF YOU REMOVE THE DECAL YOU ARE LEFT WITH THE SAME ROUND
CARDBOARD WRAPPING....THE PICTURE SENT TO ME VERIFIES THIS...

Guys,
Hope all finds you well. Its that time in NY to start thinking of a winter
project. I am considering upgrading my stock ignition system with whatever
the "forum" recommends.
I know a lot of you have gone with the MSD Billet distributor (dont know
which one) and 6AL box with Blaster 2 coil.
Any other recommendations?
I am a Sunday driver that puts about 200 miles a year on the car.
Any hints on installation? I am moderately capable.
Thanks

I don't know I would change anything. If I did I would probably just go
with a Ford Duraspark electronic upgrade. You don't drive enough to really
worry about it.

Well if you want the baddest thing out there, go to an Electromotive 4 coil
system with crank trigger and lose the dist altogether.

Not knowing a lot about points or electronic stuff... I went with the
Protronix unit # PNX 1281D and Coil # PNX 40011. A friend help me install
and time motor. No problems for the last four years.
Good Luck

I don't know anything about this thought I would list it and see what
happens.
This is interesting... fuel injection inside of a body that looks like a
carburetor, and an EFI controller that is self-learning. They say it will
be available in Spring of 2007. The big question is: will it actually
work as promised? If so, it sure would make for an easy conversion to
EFI. Here's the link:
