You forgot to mention the taped over bullet holes.

Listen up!
You are comparing apples to oranges! Or maybe a.22 caliber pistol to an
M-16.
Helicopter Tape is NOT Duct Tape or "Speed Tape - Racer's Tape" from the web
site you provided. I called them, they confirmed their "Speed Tape - Racer's
Tape" is Duct Tape in colors, also referred to as 200 M.P.H. tape. They do
not handle Helicopter tape because of the cost and limited demand.
Helicopter tape stays put on the race cars attaining speeds of 245 for 500
miles. (Helicopter tape was developed for the Hueys in Viet Nam. These
helicopters & the brave crews often encountered tree branches extracting and
deploying soldiers. Rotors were being destroyed hence the development of
Helicopter Tape, duct tape would not work. We also got Super Glue from Nam.)
I was wrong on the cost I provided. Here is the list, provided by a friend
who supplies race teams. Most Indy cars use this product to seal most body
panels for qualifying set up. The tape is removed for practice & race mode.
Most teams keep the nose and radiator inlets covered with helicopter tape to
help with debris. Here is the pricing:
ALL 8 MIL:
3M-24346(8672-1) 1" x 36 yds $46.23/rl
3M-39347(8672-2) 2" x 36 yds 87.44/rl
3M-30753(8672-4) 4" x 36 yds 175.88/rl
3M-67670(8672-6) 6" x 36 yds 252.33/rl
3M-67671(8672-12) 12" x 36 yds 504.65/rl
3M-8672-18 18" x 36 yds 685.94/rl
Here is the pricing for the paint protection:
SCOTCHCAL PAINT PROTECTION TAPE-NON YELLOWING 6 MIL
3M-84802 2" X 40 yds $ 89.00/r
3M-84804 4" x 40 yds 174.00/rl
3M-84806 6" x 40 yds 304.65/rl
3M-84812 12" x 40 yds 609.28/rl
I hope this helps clarify your confusion of Duct Tape vs. Helicopter Tape.
Indy, the track rat, Dave

can get all you want for that price. Check this link. You can buy it by the
box of 18 rolls for less than $140 or hell $8.00per roll
