OK, OK, OK.
Since I introduced "Helicopter Tape", let's not forget that the original post was a question about paint and stone chips, etc.
I'm one of the few on the list to use it as described, so y'all (yes, I'm in Georgia) need to chill.
Dave was explaining another use for the product(sealing body panels at Indy) that he should know something about, since he's been an official at the Speedway for over 20 years.
200 mph tape is BS made up by the telecasters covering NASCAR, it was always duct tape, it started out that way and is the same thing, except the manufacturers saw a need and filled it with better adhesives, color choices, wider pieces and other material aside from cheap cotton fibers.
and raised the price of course.
As I said, Helicopter tape is a MF to get off, I would only use it where I needed it and I would never take it off unless the place where it was became bent or a paint job was on the way. For those of you who may have had a 944 or 928, Porsche used thin strips on the back wheel arches of fenders, check out an old Porsche and you'll see that it does cloud and yellow after15-20 years, thus my race cars -ha ha ha, remark, like a race car is going to remian in one piece and /or the same paint job for twenty years ( and I said RACE CARS, because those who race have SPONSORS and they never stay the same and the paint jobs do change.
Helicopter tape and duct tape/200 mph tape have NOTHING in common (well they both come on a roll and so do guys married to fat chicks), even the adhesives are different as is the price.
In regard to firearms, quit pussy footing around, get a .50 caliber sniper rifle and take'em out at 2,000 yard, why shoot a hole in their arm when you can remove the whole shoulder.

Good Grief,

Five a brother a break, in the immortal words of Rodney King,.....OUCH< OH< POW< OWWEEE, ugh,etc .
