New Clutch slipping under load...WAS: [DeTomaso] NPC - ClutchDisengagment

aRT,
  Dick adjusted clutch so it 'engages near the floor' so I am reading you correctly there is plenty of free play but will have Dick check tomorrow night when he is free.
   
  Again what my problem seems to be is if I am cruising along in 3rd gear and give the throttle any gas then the clutch starts to slip until I back off....after the second time I just turned around and drove it home....no problem getting gears....will check for oil leaks or oil on clutch tonight

If you have no free play, the clutch may not be fully engaged resulting in 
clutch slip as well as prematurely wearing out the throwout bearing.
