guys,
If anyone needs a replacement resistor,
you can find one of these one ohm resistors:

Or, if you want to change the fan speed to something else, you could get
a variable one (as someone else has suggested).

I measured my resistor to be 1 Ohm and the motor armature to be 1 Ohm
also.
This jibes with the low speed being about 1/2 the high speed.
That would make the resistor 1 Ohm and 36 Watts. My resistor looks more
like a 20 Watt size, but who knows?
