[DeTomaso] 10 qt Oil Pan question

I recall being told 30 years ago that the Pantera dip stick showed full about a quart lower than the Mustang dip stick, and that some people ran a quart above the full mark. I think this has been discussed before, but I don't remember the details. Would it make sense to look at the dip stick with the pan off and compare the full mark with the vertical extent of the crank, rods etc?

The "10" quart oil pans will show full at the stock dip stick marker
with about 8-1/2 quarts of oil. The balance of the oil to get to "10"
quarts is in the filter and inner workings of the engine.

Follow Mike's advice and you will be good to go.
