I think you are confusing the terms. Are you referring to the "limit switch"? Call me at the below number or 209 522-4008. I "did time" some years back at an appliance parts store coincidently working for a Pantera owner.

On further thought, that is probably backwards.  The thermocouple should
open at high temp to stop the current flow to prevent overheating.  Any wire
jockeys out there with the definitive answer?

This way off topic, but maybe someone has a quick answer.

I am chasing an electrical problem in a clothes dryer.  It appears that one
of the two thermocouples is bad, but I want to confirm before running off to
replace them.  

I assume that at room temperature that the thermocouple is open (no current
flows) and at the trigger temperature, the thermocouple closes (current
flows).  Is that correct or backwards?  I poked around on line, but I could
not find a definitive answer.
