You are in the collector car age group so no smog check is required
(remember, you are LEAVING Kalifornia).

There are a number of shops and a very strong POCA chapter in the greater
Seattle area. Panteras Northwest has about 82 members from Vancouver, B.C.,
Canada to Medford, Ore., and east to Spokane, WA. Many of the guys have
owned their cars for 20-years plus. The area you are considering, the
techie east-side, has a myriad of exotic car shops as well.

Check us out at www.panterasnorthwest.com, and let us know how your plans
develop. We'd be glad to welcome another Kalifornia expatriate to the area!

Mike Thomas
Pres., Panteras Northwest

Subject: [DeTomaso] Moving to the Seattle area

My family is considering moving from southern California to some place east
of Kirkland, Washington (Woodenville, Redmond, Issaquah, that area).
As a long-time Pantera owner, I have a couple of questions for those on the
list who live in Washington:

What's the smog-check situation in Washington? My '73 car isn't stock (I
have an EFI system, more aggressive cam, larger exhaust). Do you have to
have the car checked periodically, and if so, what does the check consist
of?
Are there any shops in that area who know about Panteras? Unfortunately,
I've learned that I'm not mechanicly-inclinded enough to do it myself, and I
wouldn't want to take the car to someone who knew nothing about them.

Thanks in advance,
Tim
