Specifically what are you asking about? CHI makes a relocated port
aluminum cylinder they dubbed the 3V. It's available in 185, 218 and
225 cc port volumes. They require dedicated intake manifolds. The
CHI intake is a very tall (about the height of a Strip Dominator with
a 2" spacer) single plane. A dual plane intake slightly taller than
but similar in appearance to a Ford Boss 351 intake is available from
a third party. No word on how well it works. Price on a standard
assembled head was on par with Edelbrock 2V heads but the matching
intakes were $650 last time I checked. Prices are subject to change
with the exchange rate. CHI makes a 4V version which is essentially
the 3V port opened up to match a 4V intake manifold. CHI also makes
a version with a 2V port opening. Exhaust port is slightly raised
relative to a 4V head. The Pro Comp 351C heads are copies of the
CHI 2V's but have recessed seats and don't flow as well (hardware
is suspect as well).
A friend ordered an upgraded set of the CHI 4V heads but when the
heads arrived they were fitted with the base Ferrea 5000 valves and
springs. CHI was quick about correcting the mistake.
The flow numbers for the 218 cc 3V look pretty good and they've proved
themselves in the EMC but some drag racers are struggling to go any
faster than they did with their previous 4V head/Strip Dominator
intake combos. For Panteras, I still like the C302B and Brodix BF300's
better but the CHI heads are pretty good.
