[DeTomaso] Vibration Help / Buttonwillow

The vibration on The WInged Warrior starts around 1,200 rpm and probably gets worse at higher rpm, although I guess harmonics may make it harder to tell.
I've finally given up on tracing this and and am headed to Buttonwillow to catch day 2 of Saxton's track event.
So far I've changed plugs, re-set timing to 34 total advance, and tried my back-up carb.
The vibration is from the engine, you can feel it while revving in neutral or when driving.
This was a new install but I don't think it shook this bad on the way to Vegas, so I don't think the installer used an externally balanced flywheel on an internally balanced engine, as I've been told to fear. (Flywheel is off my Centerforce set-up from the previous 351c, this engine was bought used and refreshed with new bearings and rings). Flywheel was put on by the installer, not the machine shop.
I'll back off the mounts at the track, but I don't see how they could have gotten tighter during the Vegas trip.
I'll look for other sources of engine problems (I checked and the harnonic balancer TDC mark is correctly lined up, it has new MSD wires and a new MSD cap).
I'd appreciate any suggestions because I don't want to hurt something at the track.
Almost every bolt was finger loose from the install and I no longer have confidence in the machine shop either, so I'm fearing the worst, which would be a crank vibration due to mis-matched flywheel or loose flywheel bolts, but I'd hate to pull the ZF if not necessary. I've been told a crank vibration will trash my main bearings...

I backed off on the motor mount bolts and that seemed to solve the vibration
problem.
Is an externally balanced motor vibrate much more than an internally
balanced motor? I guess I'm asking if I get the motor internally balanced,
will the car drive smoother?
