The Cleveland deck height is 1/2" shorter, the rods are .277 shorter, the
cylinder walls are usually thinner and the main bearing supports are
skinnier
than a Windsor- and thats before you start re-engineering the entire motor
for
more cubes inside the same envelope. Takes an experienced builder, correct
parts
and good tuning skills to get a stroker-Cleveland to work and last awhile.
If
I hit the lottery and was going to build a stroker, I'd start with a Fontana
or Dart aluminum racing block. There would not be one part or bolt that was
factory 351-C left when my big engine fired up. It would cost probably
$15,000
if I did most of the work & parts-chasing. And I still wouldn't expect the
thing to last 10,000 miles before a 'major' service event, even with our
gentle
driving. FWIW- J DeRyke
