Thanks! I found the grassroots review reposted on the 'net. I know you
find the Azenis' sidewalls to be too brutal for street use, and for many
people, that may be true. I'm guessing my butt is just numb because it
doesn't bother me, and I love the no-squish feel on turn-in. I haven't
been to Pueblo on the Azenis yet (now that I'm flying for the airlines,
I'm probably never going to get to do another track day!), so I hadn't
really noticed that they don't do as well when they get very hot. On
the street, it's not a problem.
The Azenis are great in the wet as long as there's no standing water.
Since there's pretty much never any standing water in Colorado, that
doesn't really bother me.
The grassroots review was awfully favorable to the new Bridgestones, but
the two big benefits appear to be that they're more comfortable on the
street and more stable when they get hot. Not enough to justify the
extra $36/tire for me....
Tire Rack seems to think the Dunlops aren't as sticky as the
Bridgestones, which Grassroots thought were about on par with the
Azenis... And no one seems to have included the Hankooks in a comparison?
Another small issue for me is I hate attracting attention with tire
squeal, and the Azenis almost never even chirp. No one bothers to
mention this in reviews though:)
