You find the steering on stock Miatae to be unacceptably imprecise?  

I wouldn't change mine.  It would kick me out of my autocross class and I don't think the car has a problem in the steering area.  If I thought the bushings had perished, I'd replace them with new stock ones.  If my car was already wildly modified and the bushings had perished, I would consider harder bushings as long as I had to do the job anyway, but I wouldn't do the change just to do it.

My car is also a a '94 w/PS.
