[Miata] 2003 Miata Spark Plugs

I have a 2003 Miata with 25K miles and was planning on changing the spark
plugs and wires. The dealer mechanic is telling me that I do not need to
change them until I reach at least 30K  and they may be platinum plugs? Any
thoughts on when the plugs and wires need to be changed?
