You don't have to change them at 30K. This is just a recommended
interval (rather conservative). You can change them early if it makes
your feel better, or you can delay changing them until you feel it is
running rough.
Usually the plug wires need replacement before the plugs, but they are
cheap enough to replace at the same time.
If you are not having any problems, I would not bother yet.
All reports I have heard is platinum don't make any difference.
