[Miata] FM suspension questions

True but I'm not quite understand how you can move an upper perch on a coil
over.  The upper perch on a Miata is a rigid mount to the body, how do you
move the top perch, keep the same spring rate, affect the ride height and
not affect the suspension geometry??  I understand this is not the case with
the GC units but I'm just curious how this would work.

I understand how the units that change the shock body itself work.

You're not missing anything. If you can move both the upper and
lower perch the same amount, the same direction, the load on the
spring remains constant, spring length remains constant, etc.

If you can move only one perch you're changing the pre-load on
the spring as you adjust ride height.
