[Miata] Fuel efficient rating

If 20-22 mpg is considered to be among the top ten (I am assuming the ten best), then this simply shows how poor the standards are.
I am certainly happy with my MSM and do better than 20-22 mpg in town in spite of the fact that I do goose the turbo a bit more
often than necessary. But I dont see this as great milage is the larger scheme of things. I actually do a bit better than that with
my much larger touring car in Sweden. 1 liter/10 km (23.7 mpg) is sort of considered minimum requirement in eorope, at lest in
Scandinavia.

My best milage in the 2004 MSM was recently on a trip to Texas. Top up, A/C off and cruising well over the speed limit I got 32 MPG
and that was according to the odometer. Had I corrected recalculating according to the GPS it would have been better. A really good
driver like Keith will do even better, I am sure. I am happy with the milage even at $4 a gallon. David is right. We may as well
bask in the glory of the top Ten as long as it lasts.

Subject: [Miata] Fuel efficient rating

In the Patting-Ourselves-on-the-Back Department, the US EPA has rated the MX-5 as one of the ten highest ranking vehicles for 2008
regarding city fuel efficiency. (20-22 mpg)
